Minnesota Thunder Girls Basketball Program has been providing a quality spring basketball experience since 2000. During our first 11 seasons, our teams have enjoyed much success. Minnesota Thunder has had 8 teams win D-I Spring State Championships!! Furthermore, the Thunder have had one or more teams in a D-I State Championship game 10 of the last 11 seasons.
Minnesota Thunder's primary objective is to provide girls a good quality, competitive and functional place to play spring and summer basketball. Our goal is for the girls to return to their winter teams as better basketball players. We believe that by emphasizing teamwork, sound fundamentals, hustle and sportsmanship the player's interests are best served. Furthermore, we feel it is important to provide the opportunity for the girls to play for different coaches and with different players, thereby fostering friendships that can transcend their winter season rivalries. Our organization recognizes that some of our girls have goals of obtaining college scholarships. We understand that competing in national exposure tournaments are an important part of our commitment to the support of those goals. However, our main goal is helping the girls to improve their skills and knowledge of basketball which will enhance their joy in playing the game.
